The NC Spiritous Liquor Advisory Council will hold its first meeting on February 24
RALEIGH — The North Carolina Spirits Advisory Board will hold its first meeting Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. in the Hall of Fame Room of the Agriculture Building, 2 W. Edenton St., Raleigh.
The meeting will include a brief introduction of the council members and a review of the legislation creating the council.
Other topics of discussion include:
- How often the advisory board will meet
- Duration of the next meetings
- Ideas to help advance North Carolina’s distilled spirits industry, including how to engage more farmers more directly with North Carolina distillers and the potential to build relationships with breweries and establishments North Carolina wineries.
About the NC Spiritous Liquor Advisory Council
The nine-member advisory council was created by House Bill 890, Session 2021-150 with the goal of developing the spirits industry in the state, improving the state’s rank as a producing state of spirits, to raise awareness of the industry and the quality of the products, developing a plan which identifies the problems and constraints of the industry and offers advice and recommendations to the Commissioner of Agriculture. Members of the spirits industry, as well as representatives of the NC Restaurant and Lodging Association, the NC Association of ABC Boards, the ABC Commission and a selection of the Commissioner of Agriculture serve on the board.
